TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
Charts, Charts, Charts, & Charts 🥳
Where to start… where to start….? 🤯
Bitcoin
The OG is up +6% today, but look at that weekly candlestick. Somewhere in the world there is a candlestick fanatic screaming like he just pulled and alpha Black Lotus from a first edition Magic The Gathering pack. Why? Because that is one hell of a nice looking Bullish Engulfing candlestick.
There’s a couple more days until it resolves. But hey, it still looks nice. 👀
Solana
SOL is boomin’ today, +12%! But I’m calling your attention to SOL’s daily chart because there are a boat load of other altcoins with similar setups. What makes them different than Solana’s is that Solana has broken out - the others have not.
$XLM ( ▲ 4.97% ), $STX ( ▲ 14.89% ), $RSR ( ▲ 10.27% ). and $HBAR ( ▲ 5.89% ) are just some of the altcoin charts that have some variant of a bull flag on their daily charts, but haven’t broken out yet. ⌚
Near Protocol
And then you’ve got things like $NEAR ( ▲ 22.67% ). Look at the monthly candle so far. +92%. It’s at a 20 month high. If September 2026 were to close today, this would be the best performing month for NEAR since December 2023. From an Ichimoku perspective, resistance doesn’t show up until the monthly Kijun-Sen at $4.54.
Monero
Privacy seems to be a theme here. Zcash hit new all-time highs at $1.5k, we just saw NEAR popping, it’s hard to forget about the guy who used to be the only major player in the privacy coin space: $XMR ( ▲ 12.46% ). Just look at the 3-month candlestick chart.
No indicators. Just the candles. That just looks like it’s about to pop. It’s already up +88% for the quarter. This will be one to watch. 👀
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
The Golden Cross 🙄
The ‘Golden Cross’ is a technical analysis term for when the 50-day moving average crosses above the 200-day moving average. We looked, at length, at $BTC ( ▲ 6.2% )’s 200-day EMA yesterday. We’re doing the same thing, but not nearly as long, at Bitcoin’s historical Golden Crosses. 👀
Bitcoin's 50-day average crossed above its 200-day on September 8 at $78,463. That's a golden cross, the 13th on record, and if history holds you've already been told it's bullish by someone with a laser-eyes avatar. So I pulled the other twelve.
All Of It, 2012 To Now
For the test/analysis, I’m going with the premise that one would go long on the 50-day closing above the 200-day and then exit on the close below. Twelve instances, seven winners, five losers. The median made 12%.
Compounded, those twelve turned a dollar into $8,067. Sounds great until you check what holding did over the same stretch, which is $16,180. And two trades, February 2012 and October 2015, made 83% of the money. Take them out and the other ten compound to 4.6x over eleven years.
One year after a golden cross, the median return is 101%. One year after any random day since 2011, it's 90%. I drew twelve random days 10,000 times, and the dartboard beat the golden cross about four times in ten. And when I say I drew the random days, I mean four friends name G. E. Mini, G. Rock, C. Hat GPT, and a French foreign exchange student named Claude.
And ‘buying’ the Golden Cross is a late, late, late entry. By the time the cross prints, price is already up a median 55% off the low.
Just 2020 Onward
Seven completed crosses, four winners, median 11%. Compounded they made 4.4x. Holding made 9.3x. Same deal as the full history: about half. 🤷
Before 2020, days with a golden cross in effect compounded at roughly 300% a year, and days under a death cross lost 14% a year. Since 2020 it's 46% a year against 38%. Bitcoin has compounded at about the same rate under death crosses as under golden ones.
Which makes the exits expensive. Since 2020, selling the death cross and buying back the next golden cross got you back in at a higher price five times out of seven. All-time it's nine of thirteen. The four times it saved you were the four big bears. What it buys is a smaller hole: a worst drawdown of 57% since 2020 against 77% for holding. It's crop insurance, and the premium is half the crop.
So, here we are, number 13. It fired 36% off the June low, which is early by this signal's standards. Every loser on the list was dead inside six months, so the first useful thing this cross can tell anybody arrives around March 2027. 📆

INJ Lands on Solana, Stock Pairs Get Stranger 🟪
This kind of like what I wrote about a couple days ago with the BONER/HIMS story, but this involves one of the biggest players in the RWA space, $INJ ( ▲ 17.48% ).
Injective’s INJ is now live on $SOL ( ▲ 12.14% ), which means StonkFun lets creators launch tokens paired directly with INJ. We’ve all seen versions of something like BTC/ETH, BTC/USDT, SOL/USDC - now add INJ as another base asset.
A new token can trade against crypto, stablecoins or tokenized exposure to traditional securities. If you’re an FX trader like me, then you might a little excited becuase this sounds a like like a type of cross-rate trading.
A token paired with INJ carries exposure to both assets. Pair it with tokenized SPY or NVDA and the relationship gets even more interesting. Traders have to think about relative performance instead of staring at another dollar-denominated chart.
Foreign exchange traders have dealt with this forever. Crypto, naturally, needed meme coins and tokenized Nvidia shares before discovering the same idea. 🧠

Somewhere, Citadel Is Reading The Fine Print 🥸
Citadel Securities handles more than 23% of U.S. equity market volume and roughly 35% of U.S.-listed retail volume. Its business is market making: stand between buyers and sellers, provide liquidity, collect the spread, repeat several billion times. 💸
The SEC may have introduced some new competition.
Yesterday, the SEC came out with this gem: SEC Issues “Innovation Exemption” to Facilitate the Trading of Tokenized NMS Stock and Request for Comment
Its new Innovation Exemption allows tokenized U.S. stocks to trade through automated market makers and liquidity pools. Qualifying venues receive temporary relief from the legal definition of an exchange, while certain firms supplying stock liquidity to those pools receive relief from the definition of a dealer.
The smart contracts must be public and deployed on a public, permissionless blockchain. The tokenized shares must carry the same rights as the underlying stock. Trading remains permissioned and subject to volume and listing limits.
Now, nobody is replacing Citadel next week. Or probably ever. Still, the SEC has approved a five-year experiment where software can perform part of the job traditionally handled by securities venues and professional market makers. 🤯

🔐 COTI Brings Private AVAX And USDC To Avalanche
COTI’s Privacy-on-Demand system is live on Avalanche, letting applications run encrypted computations while their contracts and assets stay on the network. Injective Institutional Services is registered with the SEC as a transfer agent, letting it maintain securities ownership records and process changes. Injective calls itself the first Layer 1 ecosystem with this regulatory function, though the registered entity is an affiliate rather than the blockchain itself. A license is useful infrastructure; it is not a conveyor belt for tokenized assets. Injective.
