Bitwise’s NEAR ETF Bets The Bots Will Pay 🤖

Bitwise’s latest bet: your AI assistant will eventually need spending money. 🎰

The Bitwise NEAR ETF (NRR) launched today on the NYSE as the first U.S. spot $NEAR ( ▲ 3.82% ) exchange-traded product. Bitwise also intends to stake the holdings. It cited roughly 5% annualized network staking rewards, but that is neither a guaranteed return nor the fund’s net yield.

Rewards accrue to the fund rather than arriving as a promised 5% paycheck.

Other NEAR products? Yes, but the geography and labels matter. Europe already has the 21Shares NEAR Protocol Staking ETP and Bitwise’s own NEAR Staking ETP.

Why NEAR? Bitwise sees a transaction layer for AI agents that book trips, make payments, and trade on users’ behalf. Its thesis is that those agents need fast, inexpensive settlement without depending on one centralized custodian.

There is usage behind the story, too. Bitwise says NEAR Intents has processed more than $32 billion, versus under $1 billion a year earlier. That is transaction volume, not revenue or proof that robots made every trade. And I’m not entirely sure if that’s measuring the NEAR Intents volume or not, too. 🧠

Fresh MCP Scan: The Get-In-Early Section Now Comes With A Helmet. ⛑️

Today's scan through Stocktwits' MCP, which tickers look like there’s still room on the bus, which tickers have a bus already on the move, and which tickers just found out the transmission is dying and it can’t go up the hill any more.

Not trading or investment advice, just a way to use the Stocktwits MCP to find ideas.

Still Boarding - Lean: Bullish, Helmet On

  • $POL ( ▲ 2.21% ) - the cleanest setup on the board. Sentiment has climbed steadily for two weeks, message volume has been flat the whole time, and price is up 17% on the month sitting 6% under its high. It's moving a little faster than I'd like, which is the helmet. Why a helmet? Because busses don’t have seat belts. It’s a mass issue.

  • $WLFI ( ▼ 0.27% ) - flattest price on the list, up under 2% on the month, with sentiment creeping higher. Then volume jumped Saturday.

  • $LINK ( ▼ 2.9% ) - oddly, this beast is still boarding despite the rally. Sentiment climbing, volume only halfway there, price +33% on the month.

This Bus Is Moving, But No One Is On, Fresh High - Lean: Neutral, Keep Watching

  • $ICP ( ▲ 12.14% ) - new 30-day high this morning, +40% on the month, and the bus is nearly empty. The crowd was here two weeks ago, left, and price ran without them. HYPE did this same thing on the 9th and then just tracked Bitcoin.

  • $ZBCN ( ▲ 21.46% ) - sentiment still decent, volume draining, price at a new high. Second scan in a row it's shown up here.

Breaks Don’t Work - Lean: Bearish

  • $AMP ( ▲ 1.39% ) - everyone showed up all at once Saturday, price jumped 63% that day, and it's given back 29% since with the room still full. Same shape as DASH on the 9th. 22,000 watchers who got there late.

  • $VARA ( ▼ 4.26% ) - sentiment falling off a cliff, volume still maxed, price 25% under Saturday's spike. People are leaving a bus they're still standing in.

  • $PENGU ( ▲ 6.49% ) - price topped on the 23rd. The crowd arrived on the 27th. Four days late to the party and price is already 10% off the high.

This Bus Is Picking Up Or Dropping Off? - Lean: Still Going, Adding Is Iffy

  • $PYTH ( ▼ 2.12% ) - this bus has been full all month and hasn't thinned once. +70%, 4% off the high. Longest-running crowd on the board. These have kept going longer than I expected every time so far. They've also dipped 12% to 19% along the way every time so far.

  • $JASMY ( ▲ 3.77% ) - sentiment and volume both spiked over the weekend, price jumped 14% Saturday, a third of that is already gone.

Uh Oh - Lean: Leave It

  • $DOG ( ▲ 0.2% ) - crowd arriving, price leaving. Down 29% from the high and -12% today while sentiment climbs.

We’ll revisit next week. Maybe. It’s Stocktoberfest next week and I’ll be there, so no promises. 🫡

Chiliz Stayed Focused. How Deeply Unfashionable. 🎫

$CHZ ( ▲ 3.54% ) kept doing the sports thing and now FOX Business is explaining Fan Tokens from a college football stadium. Somebody check on the companies that pivoted to AI last Thursday. 😕

To be perfectly honest, this is fun to write about about because Chiliz isn’t a giant across crypto or tokenization entity. In sports fan tokens, though, it’s a leader. The company picked sports, built around sports, and somehow resisted the irresistible urge to become a data center with a token attached. No emergency pivot into AI infrafaketure. Just the business it actually knows.

Socios.com’s partnership with Playfly Sports brings LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State, and Texas A&M into the first wave of U.S. college Fan Tokens. The stated goal: 30 university athletic departments within 12 months. THIRTY. We are talking about fan bases that consider a Saturday loss a legitimate family emergency (thanks Hawkeyes).

Now, nobody gets to confuse television coverage with adoption. These programs still have to deliver, the expansion is a target, and tokens can lose resale value. But HOLY HELL. A specialist stuck to its specialty, built the relationships, and earned a shot at one of the loudest sports markets on Earth.

Competence. Focus. Continuity. In crypto? Someone call security. 🔐

Quant Got A Bank Job. A Really Big Job. 😱

I’ve received some questions to look at $QNT ( ▲ 10.74% ) because, well, it’s moved a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean +475% over six days (Sept 21 to Sept 26).

You know when you look at your checking account and see the initials ACH? That’s Automated Clearing House, the payment system behind direct deposits, bill payments, and bank transfers. Adult life, abbreviated.

A company called The Clearing House operates one of those ACH networks, EPN. It reported averaging 82 million ACH transactions daily in March 2025. Its network handles roughly half of U.S. commercial ACH volume.

Across all its payment networks, The Clearing House clears and settles more than $2 trillion daily. That figure includes wires, ACH, check images, and instant payments. Not ACH alone.

On September 24, 2026, that company selected Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative, a new network for tokenized bank deposits. Slightly more substantial than getting your logo onto a conference lanyard.

Here’s what Quant got hired to do:

  • Connect the banks. Quant’s technology will coordinate clearing and settlement between tokenized-deposit systems, with connections to existing payment networks including RTP and CHIPS.

  • Make deposits programmable. These remain bank deposits, represented digitally on-chain. The network aims to support around-the-clock payments and transfers that execute automatically when agreed conditions are met. Availability is expected in the first half of 2027.

  • Help banks get started. Quant also plans to provide tokenized-deposit capabilities to U.S. financial institutions processing through The Clearing House that don’t already have them. Another potential source of business beyond connecting the network.

One distinction before the price targets acquire extra zeros: the announcement doesn’t quantify required QNT purchases or token lockups. The Clearing House’s existing payment volume is not a QNT buy order. Yet. ⏲

ENS Wants Companies To Bring Their ID 💡

$ENS ( ▲ 6.04% ) Labs and GLEIF are exploring a way to connect ENS names with verifiable Legal Entity Identifiers, or vLEIs. Applications could then check which organization stands behind an on-chain name. 🪪

Well, that’s a good idea. A familiar logo and a wallet address probably shouldn’t qualify as corporate identification.

An LEI is a globally standardized identifier for a legal entity. The vLEI makes that identity digitally verifiable, including the authority of people acting for the organization. ENS supplies the readable name.

Under the proposed approach, both the ENS name owner and the organization would authorize the connection. Applications could independently verify it. Less “trust me, I’m Accounting.”

That could help institutions identify counterparties across multiple wallets and networks. Tokenized funds and securities could carry a consistent, verifiable connection to the organization behind them, even as infrastructure changes.

The work is still in development, with a proposed ENS standard intended to give integrations a common approach. 👍
